2. About the app

EMS Response Tracker is a tool for emergency response personnel to time their action items and record GPS tracks during a callout. The app stores your data locally on your device. It has no user accounts, no backend server, and no subscription.

  • Home — start a callout, switch between action items, end a callout.
  • Map — view the live or historical GPS track for a callout.
  • History — review, share, or delete past callouts.
  • Settings — configure GPS, action item templates, and theme colour.

3. Frequently asked questions

The map is blank or stuck loading

The map uses tiles served by OpenStreetMap and requires an internet connection the first time you view a region. Check that your device has connectivity, then re-open the Map tab.

GPS track is empty after a callout

GPS recording requires three things: GPS enabled in Settings, the system Location permission granted, and Location Services turned on at the OS level. If any of these are missing, the app will still time your action items, but no GPS points will be recorded.

  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → EMS Response Tracker.
  • Android: Settings → Apps → EMS Response Tracker → Permissions → Location.

The app drained more battery than expected

GPS recording is the most power-intensive feature. You can increase the ping interval in the Settings tab, or disable GPS entirely if you only need action item timing.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual callouts from the History tab — this removes the callout, its action item records, and its location points. To remove everything, uninstall the app; the operating system deletes the local database with it.

Can I export a callout?

Yes. From the History tab, open a callout and use the share / export action.

Will my data sync across devices?

No. The app intentionally keeps all data on the device it was recorded on. There is no cloud sync.
